Are you unsatisfied or in emotional pain due to adjustment to life transitions, sudden changes or unexpected loss, barriers to life goals, relationship problems, and/or just feel stuck or unfulfilled? By exploring your past experiences and examining present issues with you, we can determine thinking, behavioral and/or relationship patterns that would enhance your potential and then you decide which of my counseling strategies and offered techniques that fit you best.  My role is to help you resolve your life issue(s) so you can sustain a more satisfied, happier life. I am a dedicated licensed counsleor of over 30 years helping people overcome hardship (grief, pain and fear) and improving their lives through goal achievement and behavioral change.

I am passionate about client care and developing a therapeutic rapport. I provide unconditional acceptance in a friendly environment which allows the examination of choices in making life decisions. I offer flexible appointment times and am available to meet in person(office) or online with user friendly doxy.me.

My Background: Over 30 years of Experience

I am a Licensed Counselor in Connecticut with extensive counseling experience. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Connecticut College. I have extensive counseling experience of 30 years in mental health facilities and then 5 years in my own clinical practice on the shoreline. I obtained my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) at Cambridge College. I am also a Certified Counselor Supervisor. I utilize my Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Albertus Magnus to manage my business processes. Along with providing individual, couples, and family sessions, I have supervised 8-10 counselors simultaneously for 15 years. . As a the clinical coordinator and then clinical director of dual diagnosis counseling outpatient services , I have developed and managed 5 different clinical outpatient programs.

My Approach and Modalties

I offer methods that promote new ways of thinking and behavioral change utilizing diverse techniques of Motivational Enhancement Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Solution Focused Method, talk therapy, and DBT mindfulness and breathing relaxation exercises. These modalities have proven to reduce symptoms of trauma, grief, anger, anxiety, and depression. I am available for in-person or online appointments.
